About
My name is PJ and I intend to watch every sports film ever made. Of course an asterisk is already needed. Unfortunately, no one can watch every sports movie ever made, as a fair number of them are lost films. As you might imagine, this means that there is no known existing copy of the film. So really I intend to watch every sports film that is not lost, which doesn’t sound as good so I do not say. What started out as a joke between my buddy and I has quickly snowballed as things so often do with me. I have no physical ability or interest in sports, but I do have a great love of sports films. We began joking that I should watch every single one, so of course I decided that’s a fantastic idea, nevermind that there are thousands. Well, then the sixth movie in (only three of which I was able to watch), I find out this movie does exist, but only at the Library of Congress. Okay, so how do I get into the Library of Congress to watch this film? After all, if it still exists, I have to watch it. It being only available in one exclusive location that can only accessed under specific circumstances is no excuse. Upon researching ways I could be allowed a viewing, I decided that if I post reviews of the films and make myself some sort of sports film historian, it will count as an academic endeavor and I may be allowed in. So if you are from the Library of Congress, welcome, this is all for you. If you are not, I’m glad you could join us. Please feel free to gossip over films with me, it’s my favorite thing to do.
